Metamask

MetaMask is a popular browser extension that allows users to interact with blockchain applications. This guide shows you how to integrate FIL into MetaMask using the Hyperspace testnet.

Add to MetaMask

This guide shows you how to integrate the Filecoin network into MetaMask. This process is the same for mainnet, Hyperspace testnet, Calibration testnet, and a local testnet.

Simple method

The easiest way to add a Filecoin testnet to your MetaMask is by using the pre-configured options at chainlist.org.

  1. Go to chainlist.org.

  2. Enter Filecoin into the search bar. If you would like to connect to a testnet, enable the Testnets toggle:

Search for Filecoin testnets in Chainlist.

  3. Scroll down to find the network that you want to connect to:

    Find the Hyperspace testnet.

  4. In MetaMask, click Next.

    Click next in MetaMask.

  5. Click Connect:

    Click connect in MetaMask.

  6. Click Approve when prompted to Allow this site to add a network:

Approve the new network in MetaMask

  7. Click Switch network when prompted by MetaMask:

    Switch networks in MetaMask.

  8. Open MetaMask from the browser extensions tab:

Open MetaMask from the browser extensions tab.

  9. You should see the Filecoin Hyperspace testnet listed at the top:
